With innovative performances, high-profile artistic collaborations, and deep roots in education and community engagement, Nu Deco is redefining what an orchestra can be. We have commissioned 22 new works by living and emerging composers and collaborated with artists such as Jacob Collier, Wyclef Jean, Masego, J’nai Bridges, and Ben Folds. Our education programs have reached more than 128,000 K-8 students—90% of whom attend Title 1 schools—and we annually provide free concert access to over 3,000 students in person and 10,000 virtually. Digitally, we rank among the most followed orchestras in the U.S., with a growing global audience across platforms. As we prepare for a multi-year campaign and continued organizational growth, we are seeking a Development Manager to help expand our base of support and elevate our donor experience. This role will report to the Interim Executive Director until a permanent head of the development department is hired. Position Summary The Membership Director is a frontline fundraising role responsible for raising at least $400,000 in contributed revenue in FY26, focused on gifts under $10,000. This includes overseeing membership, launching annual giving appeals, establishing a corporate membership program, and producing donor cultivation events. The ideal candidate is a systems-savvy relationship builder who thrives on connecting with people, designing thoughtful donor experiences, and improving processes. This person will also be a strategic partner in strengthening our use of PatronManager for donor tracking and reporting. We are seeking a frontline fundraiser who is emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys building meaningful relationships. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Generation Raise $400,000 in FY26, including: $188,000 from the Membership Program $148,000 from Corporations $55,000 through individual giving appeals Serve as the primary relationship manager for donors giving under $10,000. Develop and execute acquisition and retention strategies to grow the current membership base of approximately 75 members. Ensure membership renewals are proactively advanced monthly, with retention and attrition closely tracked and reported. Launch and grow a new corporate membership program in partnership with the Interim Executive Director and board. Appeals & Campaigns Plan and manage annual fundraising campaigns including direct mail, email, and Give Miami Day. Develop campaign calendars, draft messaging, and analyze results to inform future strategies. Events & Stewardship Lead planning and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events. Draft invitations and communications, recommend guests, manage follow-up, and coordinate logistics and vendors. Represent Nu Deco at performances and events to build donor relationships. CRM & Data Strategy Serve as internal champion for PatronManager, ensuring accurate data entry, donor tracking, and reporting. Partner with the Development Associate to streamline gift processing, acknowledgment, and member ticketing. Act as a backup for the Development Associate in gift entry and concierge-level service for members.

Qualifications At least two years of nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably in individual giving, membership, or annual fund. Demonstrated success managing donor portfolios and campaigns with measurable results. Experience with PatronManager strongly preferred. Exceptional writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong project management skills, with experience leading events or cross-functional projects. Must be available to attend and actively participate in all concerts, special events, and educational programming.
