PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing and organizing all FoundCare’ s fundraising events and financial partnerships. This role typically includes Planning and executing fundraising campaigns, events, and donor outreach. Building and maintaining relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant providers. Identifying new funding opportunities, including corporate sponsorships and grants. Ensuring adherence to fundraising regulations and presenting financial reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage all gift cultivation, solicitation, and fundraising efforts, encompassing annual appeals, mailings, corporate support, major and planned giving, endowed giving, special events, DIY fundraising, capital giving, and in-kind support. Generate revenue by identifying, prospecting, and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations. Meet or exceed revenue targets by building and sustaining relationships with corporate partners and donors. Collaborate with fundraising event chairs and committee members to manage, produce, and oversee the successful execution of fundraising events. Work closely with the committee to identify and secure resources for live and silent auction items, ensuring these assets align with event objectives. Engage in networking activities at selected community and leadership events to foster relationships and identify potential donors. Deliver presentations on organizational programs to various community, corporate, and civic groups as required. Support department social media initiatives by curating and identifying creative, relevant, and compelling content that aligns with fundraising goals and organizational mission. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that aligns potential partners with campaign goals and the organization’s mission. Recruit, coordinate, and oversee executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-event volunteers to ensure successful fundraising efforts. Lead and coordinate event auctions, including the management of volunteer committees responsible for soliciting auction items and preparing packages to maximize fundraising outcomes. Collaborate with the Communications Director to support and promote comprehensive campaign communication plans. Oversee the Donor Administration to ensure the collection, organization, and maintenance of a comprehensive and accurate database of donors and funding received. Establish and monitor monthly tracking tools to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy. Partner with the President and Board leadership to support board fundraising efforts, including board development, training, retention, and establishing fundraising targets. Develop tools to monitor and report on progress towards these goals. Plan, organize, and implement special events, ensuring timelines, budgets, and evaluation metrics are met to achieve revenue goals. Leverage volunteers and build volunteer support networks to enhance event success. Work with staff to develop content for social media and press to promote special events and other fundraising initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all organizational materials. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years’ work experience in nonprofit development Must be self-motivated, able to learn quickly and be detail oriented Ability to work independently with little supervision Strong communication skills – written and verbal Excellent public speaking skills Solid organizational, time management, and project management skills Ability to effectively work on multiple projects and events that overlap in timeframe Ability to develop and maintain community and donor relationships Maintain discretion and confidentiality Familiarity with social networking content management including Facebook, Instagram Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Valid Florida Driver’s License, automobile insurance and reliable automobile
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. Need to travel to off-site locations and attend meetings, workshops, seminars plus travel to other Foundcare departments and conference rooms. Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g. Pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboard, telephone, etc
