Job Description:
Position Summary:

The Director of Major Gifts & Donor Engagement plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Palm Beach School for Autism, Inc. by building and nurturing relationships with major donors, foundations, and community partners. This person will lead efforts to grow individual giving and collaborate closely on our signature fundraising event, and other philanthropic initiatives throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and prospective major donors ($5,000+). Develop and implement personalized engagement strategies to deepen donor relationships and encourage long-term support. Research and Partner with the Development Director and Executive Director on high-level donor outreach, meetings, and communications. Serve as a key collaborator on the planning and execution of our annual fundraising event, including sponsor cultivation, donor engagement, and event experience. Coordinate with event committees, vendors, and staff to ensure seamless integration of major donor stewardship into the event. Help plan and host donor cultivation events and site visits throughout the year. Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and giving history in our CRM system. Represent the school at events and in the community, sharing the impact of our programs and mission. Develop & Manage a capital campaign

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development. Proven track record of building meaningful relationships with donors and securing significant contributions. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong event collaboration skills with an eye for donor experience and stewardship. Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines. Proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., DonorPerfect, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Generally tech-savvy. Passion for supporting individuals with autism and a belief in inclusive education and workforce training.

Preferred:

Experience in education or special needs nonprofit settings. Familiarity with event sponsorship and donor recognition strategies. Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field.

$80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
