The position will establish, grow, and strengthen relationships with employers and internal influencers to maximize corporate and employee community involvement to meet and exceed revenue goals. Support United Way’s commitment to excellent customer service by facilitating communication and relationship-building with community partners and key stakeholders (local organizations, businesses, and individuals). Positions United Way as the primary philanthropic conduit between companies, the communities in which they reside and operate, and individuals through the development of year-round engagement experiences. Position Requirements & Qualifications Three (3) years demonstrated history of sales and/or community outreach success with at least one (1) year in nonprofit fundraising. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred; comparable experience considered. Experience working with executive level volunteers preferred. CRM database experience preferred and specifically Salesforce experience preferred. Microsoft Office suite proficiency required, Microsoft365 (Teams, SharePoint) preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of an insured motor vehicle. Available to work a schedule that may extend over 40 hours per week and sometimes includes early morning and evening activities. Essential Job Responsibilities Fundraising & Data Management Manage and maintain close, positive relationships with the key accounts in the assigned portfolio throughout the year, including planning and oversight of the accounts’ annual United Way campaign – focusing on building and maintaining effective relationships. Oversee employee giving campaigns and creates meaningful growth through best practice strategies to grow participation and increase gifts. Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward current and potential donors and workplace campaigns Work with the VP of Resource Development on donor cultivation of individuals within the workplace who have potential to give major gifts. Define reporting needs and work with internal team on content, formatting, timeline, and delivery. Utilize reports and data to inform decisions and strategy. Maintain accurate record keeping and account data management for areas of responsibility; utilize available data to drive decisions and evaluate success. Manage all work on assigned accounts until all donations are audited based on projections and goals. Donor Stewardship and Business Development In partnership with corporate partners, create a donor engagement strategy targeted at returning, new, lapsing, and lapsed donors. Inform current and potential partners about investment impact and organizational progress towards community goals. Meet annual goals for personal contact with donors and prospects, with a strong emphasis on face-to-face meetings, but also includes phone, e-mail, and other unique donor engagement opportunities. Through relationship building and research, collaborate with the team on foundation and corporate giving grants. Represent United Way of the Coastal Empire in the community. Volunteer Management Identify, recruit, train and manage campaign volunteers in areas of responsibility. Direct volunteer teams in establishing an aggressive goal through the goal setting process and develop strategies to meet those goals. Monitor all activity in assigned areas to assure adherence to timelines and reporting by tracking progress toward goals. Manage team of volunteers and ambassadors in meeting and completing deadlines on all campaign-related related items. Fundraising Strategies & Implementation Contribute in departmental planning and executing of fundraising strategies for broadening donor base and increased giving among current donors. Provide staff support where needed, leadership to assigned volunteers and committees, and assist with special functions as necessary throughout the year. Volunteer and actively participate in United Way projects, special events, and cross-functional teams or workgroups that support the entire organization. Other duties as assigned to advance the goals of Resource Development and the mission of United Way of the Coastal Empire.
