Job Description
The Manager of Prospect Development, Strategy, and Services is responsible for developing and leading a prospect management program for all Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) Foundations and FranU. This role is responsible for data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence throughout the philanthropic arm of FMOLHS and to support in querying and analyzing data for strategic purposes. This position will also help to train others on how to use the donor systems for both input and inquiry. The role requires strategic development and implementation, management and analytical skills, curiosity, and creativity. The manager and team will advance fundraising strategies and processes that are in alignment with national best practices, ambitious outcomes, and the long-term goals of each foundation. As the foundation teams grow and become more complex, so too will the prospect team.
Experience:
Five (5) years in Fundraising operations, prospect strategy, engagement, research, and management
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Skills and Abilities:
Data Management Expertise:
Strong background in data analysis, synthesis, Blackbaud or other fundraising/constituent relationship management software, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Project Management:
Knowledge and experience in prospect identification, development, engagement, strategies, movement of donors through the donor continuum, summarizing progress and opportunities, and redirecting portfolios
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication abilities, presentation skills.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
A strong value for collegiality and teamwork, with the ability to work collaboratively across organizations and their departments. Prospect Management and Donor Data Utilization
- Establish and lead a comprehensive prospect development system.
- Employ data-driven strategies to drive measurable increases in fundraising efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work with leaders and team members responsible for major, principal, planned, and annual giving on portfolio development, management, strategy, research, and engagement.
- Provide detailed analysis on managed prospects and unassigned pre-prospects across all giving levels to drive prospect pool focus and growth, and partner with leadership to develop, implement, and track strategies.
- Lead portfolio reviews for OLOL Foundation and FranU team members with direct fundraising responsibilities. Set direction and manage this process for other FMOLHS markets.
- Provide input to foundation, system, and market leaders to improve operational efficiencies, and tracks progress.
- Develops progress, insight, and opportunity briefings for administration to inform strategic decision-making.
- Supports local and systemwide stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure the right individuals are included in opportunities to deepen connections with our ministry.
- Actively participate in the administration and configuration of the Blackbaud database, partnering with the Manger of Philanthropic Services and other team members, to conduct regular quality checks and updates to maintain data integrity. Collaboration and Teamwork
- Collaborate closely with SVP of Philanthropy, OLOL Director of Development, FranU, and FMOLHS and foundation leaders, major and annual giving officers across FMOLHS, as well as the Manager of Philanthropic Services, to determine prospect assignments and monitor progression.
- Develop and maintain productivity measures and tracking.
- Conducts briefings and team meetings on prospect protocol and procedures across all markets.
- Provides input to Foundation leadership and staff on policies, procedures, donor proposals, and strategies to improve operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with users and leadership to assess and recommend portfolio adjustments to align with market strategic goals. Data Extraction, Reporting, and Trend Analysis
- Create, analyze, and present reports that inform fundraising strategies, track activities and tasks.
- Identify and implement innovative methods to maximize data utilization in understanding donor behavior, thereby enhancing fundraising efforts and increasing donor engagement.
- Develop profiles and prospect alerts.
- Continuously assess trends, funding interests, and other relevant factors to support moves management.
