Join us in a new role to lead our capital campaign and major gifts for a multi-million dollar expansion to save lives. Job Description This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position supports the CEO in coordinating all aspects of capital campaign management and reporting, planning, implementing, and managing our capital and annual support campaign efforts to raise significant funds to support our organization’s mission and strategic initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring the success of our capital campaign and development initiatives. This position develops and executes a strategic plan to diversify, strengthen and increase the capital funding base including developing new sources of funding for capital campaigns. This position is responsible for campaign strategy including establishing solicitation priorities, managing prospect lists, developing and executing targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies for a range of projects, preparing and providing support to staff, board members and volunteers for solicitation, and planning and managing cultivation and appreciation events. This position deepens the engagement of staff and volunteers in philanthropy while further advancing the culture throughout the association. Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s) such as nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing, communications, business or equivalent preferred. 2. Proven experience (at least 3 years) in successful fundraising goals and capital campaign fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Proven record of tracking outcomes, and managing budgets with performance-based campaigns and special events. 3. Strong understanding of fundraising principles and strategies, particularly in major gifts and donor cultivation. 4. Proficiency in using fundraising software, donor databases, all standard business software (Microsoft Office software) and other relevant tools. Strong computer skills with the ability to research and analyze data and set fundraising plans that align with the budget and association needs. 5. Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. 6. High level of interpersonal skills to effectively relate and motivate volunteers and staff to achieve financial development goals and act as strong advocates. 7. Knowledge and understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner these resources with the YMCA to meet strategic objectives. 8. Philanthropic Strategy Development:
Develop and execute strategies to advance the organization’s philanthropic support. Develop and implement a comprehensive capital campaign strategy to achieve fundraising goals and objectives. This position works closely with the CEO and Director of Mission Advancement to develop comprehensive plans to position the YMCA as the premier charitable organization across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in capital campaign fundraising and incorporate innovative strategies into campaign planning and execution 2.
Donor Engagement and Stewardship:
Develop and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program to recognize and cultivate long-term relationships with campaign contributors. Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring their continued support and relationships with the Y and the CEO. Conduct thorough research to identify potential donors, funding, and naming opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and campaign objectives. Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential major donors, corporate partners, and foundations to secure financial support. Plan and execute a variety of fundraising and awareness events to engage donors and generate support for the capital campaign. 3.
Messaging and Marketing:
Utilize various communication channels in conjunction with the Director of Mission Advancement, including social media, email marketing, and direct mail, to promote the capital campaign and engage with donors. Responsible for ensuring the agency has marketing materials and a dedicated website necessary for a successful campaign. Collaborate with the CEO, Director of Mission Advancement and board members to create compelling campaign messaging and fundraising materials. 4.
Major Gifts and Campaigns:
Lead efforts to secure major gifts and manage fundraising campaigns. Implement and oversee annual giving campaigns for staff, volunteers, and the community. 5.
Corporate and Foundation Partnerships:
Develop and maintain partnerships with corporations and foundations building and ensuring their continued support and relationships with the Y and the CEO. 6.
Budgeting, Financial Reporting, and Analysis:
Manage assigned budget and ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis of assigned areas, special events, and marketing efforts. Maintain donor-giving files, grant due dates, grant applications, and awarded grant reporting due dates. 7.
Donor Recognition and Reporting:
Ensure proper recognition and reporting of donor contributions. Monitor and track campaign progress, prepare regular reports, and provide updates to the CEO, board members, and campaign committee. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
