Reporting to the VP of Development or Director of Donor Relations, the Stewardship Manager is part of the Development team charged with generating monetary donations to the ministry. The Stewardship Manager will work diligently to secure funds for the organization by managing a group of assigned, qualified donors (caseload) assuring that as many as possible are retained as continuing donors to the organization and are upgraded in their giving and involvement. The successful candidate will build rapport with current and prospective donors through proper stewardship that consists of phone calls, emails, thank you notes, as well as face-to-face conversations and tours of the ministry. A key benefit of this position will be the satisfaction of helping donors fulfill their passions and interests through their giving to KARM. Duties Gain a comprehensive understanding of the priorities of Knox Area Rescue Ministries Learn all aspects of KARM’s giving opportunities Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of major donors (defined as a cumulative giving of at least $3,000 in a 12-month period) Create and implement moves management plans that consider the individual donor’s interest, motivations, giving patterns and ask preferences for each donor on caseload Execute annual plans that includes strategies for acquiring, renewing, and upgrading major donors As part of the Development team, help strategize and develop the overall fundraising plan in order to ensure continued revenue growth Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and create and write effective offers, proposals and asks. Ability to secure information that can be sent back to donors to report on how their money was used is required Design and run queries, gift summaries, and reports; input and retrieve biographical and gift record Organize donor cultivation events in coordination with the development department team Represent KARM professionally and in accordance with fundraising standards to the public, donors, employees, volunteers, and program guests Model Christian conduct and behavior to all constituents Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Commitment to Christian faith required; spiritually mature Commitment to KARM’s mission and agreement with our statement of faith and guiding values Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Minimum 5 years of successful fundraising and/or sales experience and a proven track record of closing four- and five-figure gifts Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, as well as a high level of maturity in social and professional settings High degree of comfort with direct donor interaction, including discussions of personal and family finances Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills; outgoing, high-energy, and able to multi-task Self-starter as well as an initiator; able to work with little direct supervision Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and to succeed under pressure Comfortable and proficient with using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information; proficiency with MSOffice; experience with DonorSearch and DonorPerfect CRM a plus Ability to work in a team environment and work collaboratively with a variety of constituencies Ability to think strategically and effectively adapt to change
