General Manager UNF Golf Complex Jacksonville, FL 32256 About the Role UNF Golfplex is seeking a hands-on, motivated General Manager to take full operational control of our public golf facility in Jacksonville, FL. This is not a desk job—this role combines leadership, turf oversight, customer service, and team management in a dynamic outdoor environment. You’ll work directly with ownership to execute our long-term vision for revitalizing the facility, maintaining high service standards, and leading a small but dedicated team. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day facility operations, including pro shop, guest services, and turf maintenance Manage and coordinate work schedules for 7-9 part-time staff Supervise and delegate tasks to the outdoor maintenance team Enforce the course maintenance plan and support agronomy operations Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management Work point-of-sale (POS) systems and ensure smooth daily transactions Provide frontline customer service, handle complaints, and maintain a welcoming environment Monitor budgets, assist with financial planning, and help evaluate ROI on improvements Coordinate and supervise vendors, ensuring renovation projects align with vision Act as liaison between staff and ownership Ideal Candidate Profile Experience working in golf course operations or turf maintenance Willing and able to split time between indoor (POS, admin) and outdoor (crew supervision, course care) duties Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Comfortable working 40 hours per week, including weekends Some business or budgeting experience is preferred No prior GM experience required—but work ethic, reliability, and adaptability are a must
