Nestled in the heart of historic Jacksonville, Florida we currently have an event venue, The Old Spanish Quarter which blends timeless elegance with modern amenities. We also have additional job growth potential with an additional venue location, The Contemporary, which is currently under construction. We’re looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to oversee the sales and operations of our amazing event space. Position Overview The General Manager (GM) of the Old Spanish Quarter will be responsible for the overall management and success of the event venue. This includes sales and marketing strategy, operations, client relations, vendor coordination, and financial performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in hospitality or event management, a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, and a track record of driving operational excellence and sales results. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily venue operations, ensuring seamless event execution and exceptional client satisfaction. Manage the venue’s calendar, booking system, and all client communications from inquiry through post-event follow-up. Continuously nurturing leads to closure. Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize bookings and revenue for both weddings and corporate events. Maintain strong relationships with preferred vendors, clients, and partners. Ensure the venue is always presentation-ready, and all event details and documentation are collected and organized. Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and report on financial performance. Handle client escalations and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with marketing team to enhance brand visibility and reach sales targets. Qualifications Experience in hospitality, event management, or a related field (preferred). Proven leadership and staff management skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Proficient in venue management software, Excel, CRM systems, and budgeting tools.
