We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. What You’ll Do The Chief of Staff serves as a key advisor to the President and supports other Executive Team members on matters involving the strategic direction of the College. This position manages cross-departmental coordination to enhance organizational efficiency and ensures the seamless execution of presidential directives and institutional priorities. Duties include, but are not limited to: Manages and organizes the President’s Office, assuring efficiency of the office operation and staff. Administers independent research and carries out special projects on behalf of the President. Tracks, advises on and/or influences legislative action pertaining to Tallahassee State College; Directs the research, analysis, and preparation of briefs, reports, written white papers, and other informational documents at the request of the President. Conducts independent analysis of policy issues, identifies program and fiscal impact and develops strategies for consideration by the President and other members of the Executive Team. Coordinates, analyses and prepares reports requested by the District Board of Trustees on behalf of the President. Leads the development and delivery of Board workshops at the request of the President on strategic matters of concern to the college. Assists and represents the President, as appropriate, by serving as the primary point of initial contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the President. Represents the President at meetings and other events with business and community groups, other educational institutions, state and legislative leaders and their staff. Independently handles both routine and confidential communication to and from the President’s Office. Leads and encourages shared governance across the College among students, staff, and faculty. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education, leadership, strategic planning, and/or organizational management are required. A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills are essential.
