Assistant Vice President- Southern and Caribbean Region CJF America, Inc. Miami, FL Cornerstone America, a special program under the Courtney Jordan Foundation, is at the forefront of philanthropic initiatives that aim to empower and uplift communities across the United States. Our mission revolves around the central theme: “Building Stronger Communities”. CJF America is a nonprofit that provides resources to the underserved and underrepresented communities through adult educational programming, learning academies for children, and youth council initiatives. Responsibilities Cornerstone America is now hiring for the position of Assistant Vice President for the Southern and Caribbean Region, office based out of Miami, Florida. (Orlando, Gainesville, Opalocka, Belle Glade, Pahokee, Florida | Guaynabo, Puerto Rico). This position reports to the Senior Vice President. Lead the establishment and ongoing management of Cornerstone centers in the Southern and Caribbean Region. Manage the implementation of Cornerstone America by focusing on creating sustainable community hubs that offer healthcare, education, job training, and economic empowerment. Develop a regional strategic plan that aligns with the national objectives of CJF America and Cornerstone America. Oversee the design, setup, and operations of temporary hubs in cities across the region, ensuring quick service delivery in existing spaces, followed by the establishment of permanent hubs. Collaborate with local organizations to assess local community needs and customize services. Ensure that each hub provides access to healthcare, tech job training (via CJF Code School), job placement services, educational programs (GED, financial literacy), and other essential social services. Cultivate and manage relationships with local community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Serve as a community ambassador for CJF America in the Southeast region, representing the organization at events, public forums, and with potential partners. Lead a team of program managers, staff, and volunteers working in the region, supporting their development and ensuring effective program delivery. Provide direction, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for staff, building a cohesive and high-performing team that meets community and organizational goals. Define and track performance metrics for each regional Cornerstone Hub in the, including job placement rates, educational achievements, healthcare access, and overall community engagement. Conduct regular program evaluations and impact assessments, using data to refine approaches and optimize service delivery in each city. Provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Vice President on program effectiveness, challenges, and successes. Job Requirements A Master’s degree in public administration, community development, social work, business administration, or a related field. A minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience in community development, nonprofit program management, or public administration, with a proven ability to manage large-scale programs in urban communities. Extensive experience working with HUD, local Housing Authorities, and community-based organizations. Experience overseeing the implementation of economic development, education, and healthcare initiatives within underserved urban communities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, including local leaders, government representatives, and residents. Ability to build trust and strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering collaboration and community ownership. Public speaking experience, capable of representing CJF America at key events and meetings within the Northern sector.
