$165K – $249K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Management Sales Team development Computer skills Business management Senior level Leadership Marketing 10 years Full Job Description As the Vice President of the North America (NA) Office of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), you will play a critical role in advancing the mission and strategic goals of IAAPA within the region. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing IAAPA’s operations, membership growth, advocacy initiatives, and industry development efforts across the market. This leadership position requires a deep understanding of the amusement and attractions industry, strong business acumen, and the ability to build relationships with industry stakeholders, government officials, and IAAPA members. The Vice President, North America has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of member programs in the region including but not limited to: membership and services sales and marketing networking/connections events education program development media relations communications government relations

IAAPA Expo Specific Duties:
Strategic Leadership:

Provide strategic guidance and leadership to IAAPA’s NA operations, aligning them with the organization’s global goals and objectives. Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to drive the growth and success of IAAPA in the North American region. Develop and execute regional Business Plans to meet the needs of the members while continuing to grow IAAPAs membership and business.

Membership Growth and Engagement:

Lead efforts to grow IAAPA’s membership base in NA by identifying and recruiting new members, fostering relationships with existing members, and enhancing member engagement through targeted initiatives, events, and benefits.

Industry Advocacy:

Serve as the primary advocate for the amusement and attractions industry in NA, representing IAAPA’s interests to government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other industry stakeholders. Develop and implement advocacy strategies to promote favorable policies and regulations for the industry’s growth and sustainability.

Government Relations:

Build strong relationships with government officials at various levels, including tourism, economic development, and regulatory agencies. Collaborate with government entities to advocate for the industry, facilitate dialogue, and promote IAAPA’s initiatives.

Industry Development and Education:

Drive the development and delivery of educational programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences to enhance the professional development of IAAPA members and industry professionals in NA. Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the industry and provide guidance to members on best practices.

Event Management:

Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of IAAPA events in the NA region, including programming for IAAPA Expo, conferences, and networking events. Ensure events are well-managed, meet industry standards, and provide value to IAAPA members and participants.

Financial Management:

Collaborate with IAAPA’s global leadership team to develop and manage the NA office’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation.

Team Leadership:

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the NA office staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Manage and develop a high-performing team to achieve IAAPA’s goals and objectives. Serves as the primary IAAPA media contact in the North America region, establishing and maintaining relationships with key trade and news media to promote IAAPA programs, and serve as a member of the IAAPA crisis management team. Work with the global director of research on initiatives in the region. Acts as liaison to the North America Regional Advisory Board and other committees as needed.

Qualifications:

10+ years of sales and marketing, association management, and/or business management. Attractions industry experience is strongly preferred. Member service-oriented. Excellent communications and presentation skills. Excellent computer skills. Proven team leader. Ability to build and develop team members Ability to travel extensively throughout North America and globally.

ADA Specifications:

This position is primarily sedentary in the Orlando, FL regional office with regular overnight travel and may require some bending and lifting.
