JOB SUMMARY

The Chief of Staff will serve as a senior executive advisor, providing strategic support to the President/CEO and the executive and global leadership teams. This role requires a seasoned professional with experience in senior team leadership in international organizations. The Chief of Staff will drive CEO, Executive, and Leadership Team effectiveness and oversee the Office of the President, ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment with CARE’s mission and goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive Leadership and Strategic Support Act as a trusted advisor and confidant to the President/CEO, providing high-level strategic counsel. Lead the development and execution of the executive agenda, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Facilitate effective decision-making processes within the executive leadership team. Enhance the effectiveness of the President/CEO by providing comprehensive briefings, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring thorough follow-up on key initiatives and stakeholder engagements. Executive and Global Leadership Team Management Oversee the coordination and management of the global leadership team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Drive the agenda for executive and global leadership team meetings, ensuring strategic focus and follow-through on key initiatives. Prepare comprehensive briefing materials, reports, and presentations for executive meetings. Office of the President Oversight and Representation Lead and manage the Office of the President team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Ensure the efficient operation of the Office of the President, including budget management, resource allocation, and staff development. Implement and maintain systems and processes to support the President/CEO’s strategic objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Represent the President/CEO in high-level meetings, negotiations, and events as required. Ensure consistent and effective communication with stakeholders, promoting CARE’s mission and values. Follow up on stakeholder engagements to ensure commitments are met and relationships are strengthened. Organizational Effectiveness Apply advanced management consulting skills to analyze organizational processes and drive continuous improvement. Lead high-impact projects and initiatives, delivering actionable insights and recommendations. Monitor progress against strategic goals, providing regular updates and recommendations to the President/CEO. Utilize data-driven approaches to inform strategic decision-making and enhance organizational performance. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the organization remains agile and responsive to changing environments.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in management consulting are highly desirable. Minimum of 15 years of experience in senior executive leadership, strategic planning, and team management. Significant experience in an INGO or non-profit organization is preferred.

Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities. Proven track record in strategic planning and execution. Superior organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
