Atlanta, GA Objective:
Drive the strategic growth and operational excellence of the underwriting division, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term vision and market leadership goals.
Strategic Responsibilities:
Leadership & Vision:
Develop, communicate and implement a long term, strategic vision for the binding team, focusing on market expansion, innovative, consistent and sustainable underwriting practices and succession planning.
Talent Development:
Mentor and develop the underwriting team, aligning their goals with the company’s strategic vision, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and create opportunities for continuous growth and learning.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee and refine underwriting procedures, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and support strategic objectives.
Client & Partner Management:
Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key clients and partners, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives and compliance standards.
Business Development:
Lead the strategic planning process to achieve annual and long-term business goals, identifying high-impact opportunities for growth.
Product Innovation:
Spearhead product development initiatives, negotiating with insurance carriers to enhance program offerings and maintain competitive advantage.
Customer Experience:
Drive initiatives to exceed customer expectations, fostering long-term loyalty and satisfaction among key agents and brokers.
Actuarial Strategy:
Evaluate program actuarial results, leveraging data-driven insights to negotiate with carriers and optimize pricing strategies.
Financial Oversight:
Monitor premium and rate variance, participating in strategic pricing reviews, budget planning, and territory assessments to ensure financial targets are met.
Technology Integration:
Champion the adoption of ConceptOne (Agency Management System), driving process improvements and ensuring full integration with business operations.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is highly preferred, with a focus on strategic management.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in Commercial Lines Underwriting, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, demonstrating strategic impact.
Technological Proficiency:
High level of technology literacy related to policy issuance platforms and strategic report creation.
Professional Certifications:
CPCU, CIC
designation is a plus, reflecting a commitment to professional excellence and strategic thinking.
Strategic Skills:
Exceptional presentation skills, strategic communication with executives, and the ability to navigate complex business environments with professional tact and social awareness.
