Position Overview:

The Vice President, Southwest Louisiana Region will serve as the senior executive responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales, news operations, and product development across the Southwest Louisiana market, including Acadiana and Lake Charles . This leader will drive regional growth by delivering high-impact journalism, expanding revenue opportunities, and deepening relationships with key civic and business leaders in the region. This role combines strategic vision with operational execution and requires a seasoned media professional who can inspire teams, cultivate partnerships, and guide the region through continued digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
Regional Leadership:

Define and execute strategic priorities for the Southwest Louisiana market, ensuring alignment with Georges Media Group’s company-wide goals.

Sales & Revenue Growth:

Lead advertising and business development efforts for the region. Drive growth across print, digital, and sponsorship products by building strong client relationships and launching new revenue initiatives.

Newsroom Oversight:

Support editorial teams in delivering trusted, impactful journalism that reflects and serves the unique character of Acadiana, Lake Charles, and surrounding communities.

Product Development:

Collaborate with product, design, and tech teams to identify regional content needs and launch new digital formats and experiences tailored to local audiences.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement:

Serve as the primary face of Georges Media Group in Southwest Louisiana. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with civic leaders, business executives, nonprofit organizations, and other regional stakeholders.

Team Management:

Lead and develop a cross-functional regional team, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and results.

Market Insight & Innovation:

Monitor industry trends, local market shifts, and audience behavior to inform regional strategy and ensure competitive positioning.

Qualifications:

8-10+ years of leadership experience in media, communications, or regional business development Proven track record in managing revenue growth, editorial operations, or product innovation Strong understanding of Southwest Louisiana’s cultural, economic, and civic landscape Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive performance Excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic thinking skills Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred
