This role oversees a team of Managing Directors and their Wealth Advisor teams, guiding them to deliver an exceptional client experience while driving strategic growth and operational excellence. You will represent Mariner at the highest level, both internally and externally, and play a central role in scaling the firm’s reach and impact. Responsibilities Regional Leadership & Strategy Develop and execute a regional growth strategy aligned with the firm’s national objectives Lead and mentor Managing Directors, ensuring strong team leadership, client service standards, and business development practices across all offices Drive accountability across teams to meet revenue, client retention, talent, and compliance goals Analyze regional performance data to inform decision-making, resource allocation, and planning initiatives Talent Development & Culture Build a high-performance culture through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development Champion Mariner’s values across the region, promoting inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement Partner with HR and firm leadership to identify, recruit, and retain top advisor talent Client Engagement & Advisory Oversight Maintain a small number of strategic client relationships; serve as an executive sponsor or senior advisor where needed Support complex client planning and help teams navigate high-impact relationship or reputational situations Promote consistency in planning philosophy, use of platforms/tools, and delivery of Mariner’s 360° approach Operational Excellence & Risk Management Oversee regulatory and operational compliance across the region, ensuring all advisors maintain a clean U4 and meet firm requirements Optimize regional processes to support scale, efficiency, and service consistency Drive adoption of enterprise tools (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuide Pro) and enforce best practices Market Development & Firm Advocacy Serve as a senior ambassador for Mariner in the marketplace; build community presence and foster key external relationships Provide input to national leadership on product, platform, and growth opportunities based on regional trends Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD, MSFS) preferred Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in wealth management, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles overseeing multiple teams or offices CFP®, CFA, or Series 65 required; clean U4 with no disclosures Skills & Knowledge Proven track record of managing large, complex advisory teams with consistent growth and retention success Deep knowledge of financial planning, investment strategy, estate planning, tax, and risk management for HNW and UHNW clients Executive-level communication and leadership skills; able to influence across a matrixed organization Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategy, talent, and operations
