Full Job Description General Manager STATUS:

JOB SUMMARY

North Star Lodging Management is seeking a qualified individual to assist the GM in the opening and continuous operation of the Spring Hill Suites Marriott at Congdon Yards. The AGM functions as the second in command of hotel operations overseeing all aspects of the business including but not limited to general property performance, room cleanliness and preparation, complimentary breakfast, sales and marketing activities, profitability & revenue generation, and human resources activities. We are seeking a strong employee leader who understands the value of implementing and managing to positive team dynamics with an ultimate goal of hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent that the area has to offer. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an operational hotel supervisory role with a history of success and advancement in the role. Willing to embrace a hands on and employee focused culture that celebrates the wins and is always coaching for performance using positive reinforcement. Strong verbal/written communication skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook required. Individuals with Marriott and/or Fosse PMS experience preferred Experience in implementing payroll and inventory cost controls preferred DUTIES Ensure compliance with and train employees on Marriott International Brand Standards for personnel administration, guest service, and revenue management Oversee the providing of outstanding guest services and financial performance, as benchmarked against guest satisfaction scores and company budgetary goals Assigns responsibilities and supervises work activities to completion Inspects and supervises associate work for quality and timeliness of services Conducts regular meetings to communicate necessary company information like policy reviews, local property activities, goals, etc. Inspects all areas of the hotel frequently, ensuring that general cleaning and preventative maintenance is delivered to all guest rooms, common areas, and back of house areas Conducts coaching/counseling sessions; performance evaluations with associates regularly Works with HR to issue performance improvement plans , disciplinary documentation; employee relations issues or issue corrective action as needed Ensures associates receive proper training for each position, including safety and security training, standard operating procedures, and service delivery guidelines Orders supplies and equipment as needed within budgetary constraints Participates in weekly Revenue Management Strategy calls Monitors collection of in-house guest balances and direct bill receivables, commission payments, and refunds as necessary Manages hotel preparedness for a variety of events, including but not limited to QA inspections, emergency situations, major area attractions Provides coverage for call offs and acts as manager on duty in absence of GM which includes weekends
