The Role As Managing Director, you will lead the U.S. division of a global engineering group, responsible for strategic direction, business development, financial leadership, and operational efficiency. Reporting to a Global Head, you will play a pivotal role in delivering commercial success while ensuring compliance, safety, and sustainability standards are met. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Commercial Leadership Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with global group goals Drive revenue growth through market expansion and strategic partnerships Financial & Operational Management Collaborate with financial management to meet financial objectives including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Support commercial decision-making and sustainable profitability Optimize operational and financial strategies to improve business performance Technical & Operational Oversight Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple sites to ensure efficiency and productivity Champion continuous improvement initiatives and promote environmental sustainability Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and
ISO 14001
standards Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with key customers, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders Represent the business at conferences, industry events, and trade associations People & Culture Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary leadership team Cultivate a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and ethical business practices Align workforce development with organizational goals Experience & Skills 6+ years in a senior leadership role within heavy industry or engineering Strong P&L management and strategic planning capabilities. Proven track record in operational excellence and driving business growth Familiarity with U.S. industrial regulations and environmental compliance Education Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Engineering, Finance, or Management preferred Traits Visionary leader with commercial acumen and a collaborative style.
