Each member of InterAct ‘s staff fulfills an important role in furthering our mission. The Associate Director of Crisis Intervention provides leadership, oversight, and support to InterAct’s Crisis Intervention Department, delivering direct services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This role manages in-person crisis response and supports the Crisis Line Coordinators in overseeing 24-hour crisis line operations. The Associate Director ensures high-quality, trauma-informed services aligned with agency values, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise the Crisis Intervention Department, including in-person services and 24-hour crisis line operations. Directly manage and support staff, volunteers, and interns; oversee hiring, training, and onboarding. Guide program development and strategic planning to meet client needs and agency goals. Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all shifts; implement quality control procedures. Maintain accurate documentation in Empower DB and ensure compliance with all agency and funder requirements. Recommend and implement policy changes to improve service effectiveness and alignment with funding and client needs. Provide direct crisis intervention as needed, including hospital advocacy, emergency shelter placement, and DVPO assistance. Lead team meetings and individual supervision; promote a supportive, inclusive workplace culture. Engage with community partners to strengthen service networks and referral resources. Represent InterAct in public training, community events, and task forces, including the Wake County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team. Collaborate with program leaders to ensure trauma-informed, integrated service delivery and agency-wide alignment. Ensure timely and accurate data tracking, reporting, and outcome measurement for grants and internal evaluation. Maintain current and accurate staff, volunteer, and client resource materials. Provide regular departmental updates, insights, and recommendations to the Senior Director. Participate in agency-wide meetings, retreats, trainings, and leadership activities. Support other departments as needed, including services at the Solace Center. Maintain professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality at all times. Collaborate with other programs and the community to ensure continuity of care for clients. Participate in on-call rotation (some evenings/weekends required). Other duties as assigned or required for effective program operation. Supervisory experience required; team leadership in a nonprofit or crisis setting is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated cultural competence and experience working with diverse populations.
Strong computer skills:
database experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive on behalf of the agency. Must pass a satisfactory criminal background check. Bilingual candidates and those with experience managing DV/SA programs are strongly encouraged to apply. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field required, master’s preferred. Minimum 3+ years in crisis intervention (domestic/sexual violence experience strongly preferred) OR 5+ years of experience in other human service settings.
