This person will contribute to the strategic leadership of the Association while promoting the turfgrass industry of New Jersey. Association Responsibilities 1. Management of the Association and Foundation Serve as Spokesperson for the Association/Foundation based on the guidance of the Boards of Directors. Serves as custodian of legal documents and contracts as required by the business transacted by the Board of Directors. Execute all decisions by the Executive Board, as directed. Supply and direct the work of any additional personnel to ensure the smooth operation of any events associated with the Association. Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Allied Associations. 2. Event Management Coordinate, handle and provide personnel needs for all events hosted by the NJTA, especially The Rutgers Turfgrass Research Golf Classic, Rutgers Turfgrass Research Field Days and NJ Green EXPO. Manage all logistical aspects of tradeshows, conferences and events, including contact management, budgets and staffing. Will be required to travel throughout the state of New Jersey with occasional out-of-state travel while representing the NJTA in meetings and trade shows. Work with meeting chairpersons on site selection, pricing and contract negotiations. Handle all facets of registration and logistics. Apply for pesticide credits and all other recertification credits available for our events. 3. Membership Handle membership renewal process on an annual basis. Maintain and continuously update the membership database. Assist in growing the membership. Help identify and integrate new ideas to provide value to the membership. Promote membership at Allied Association events and expositions. 4. Newsletter, Social Media and Website Distribute press releases, statements and correspondence. Coordinate as webmaster for the association. Assist and coordinate the development for all social media platforms approved by the Board Serve as Publisher and Editor for “Clippings,” the official newsletter of the association. Develop a digital calendar to engage members via emails and social media. 5. Financial & Corporate Establish and maintain a financial accounting system under the guidance of the Treasurer. Prepare and process all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Provide all financial reports to the Board, Treasurer and Committee Chair people. Work closely with the NJTA accounting firm regarding all tax and audits repeat filings. 6. Board Meetings Arrange for the Board of Directors and Executive Board meeting sites and times, both in person and virtual. Coordinate agenda with Board members, prepare and distribute board packets. Attend and record minutes for all meetings. 7. Compensation Expenses and mileage based on IRS standard mileage rate to be reimbursed. Compensation will be $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
