Position Overview
The Second Stage Theater General Management department is seeking a full time Company Manager for its off-Broadway productions of season at the Irene Diamond Stage, including Meet the Cartozians by Talene Monahon, Meat Suit, or the Shitshow of Motherhood by Aya Ogawa and The Receptionist by Adam Bock. ing to the Associate General Manager, the Company Manager will be the primary liaison between thepany and the General Management office and will support all administrative activities for each production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support the General Management department in the tracking, drafting, execution and filing of artist contracts
Process onboarding paperwork and weekly payroll forpany members and remit Dues, Pension and Health s to Finance Department and the appropriate unions
With the Associate General Manager, track and facilitate payment of all fees for designers, assistants, playwrights and directors
Track and manage budgets related to all assigned projects, including but not limited to: payroll, special events and generalpany management expenses..
Arrange travel and secure short-term local housing for all out-of-town artists
Coordinate meet & greets and all other events involvingpany members
Maintain contact information for agents, cast and creative team members
Compile necessary materials and copy for Playbills, circulating for approval and maintaining bi-weekly -cycles
Plan, source and distribute opening night gifts topany members
Manage local transportation arrangements forpany members, as required
Managepany/house ticket requests including production related seats at previews andp reconciliation reports
Participate in strategy discussions pertaining to ticket availability, house size and efforts to fill the house as necessary
Manage general production concierge requirements, including emergency health and wellness appointments
Represent General Management at rehearsals, events and production meetings as requested.
Cover all rehearsals and performances during the run; serve as Second Stage’s liaison with cast and crew at all rehearsals and performances
Additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Associate General Manager

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

At least two years of Company Management or experience in a General Management office
Attention to detail, a positive spirit, and a sense of humor
Ability to problem-solve and facilitate solutions to issues
Ability to work productively under time pressures and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and exercise excellent decision-making skills
Experience with Microsoft Office required; experience with Tessitura a plus
Work Environment
Time will be spent between an office with quiet to moderate noise level and in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using theputer, phone, and other routine office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.
Physical Requirements
Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. The employee may often use stairs throughout the day and walk throughout the theatres.
Background Screening
Second Stage Theater ismitted to providing a safe and secure environment for its employees, audiences, and other members of ourmunity. In order to do so and to safeguard assets, Second Stage will conduct background screenings on final candidates after a conditional offer of employment has been made.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, temporary/seasonal position. The contract period is estimated to be mid-September through mid-June, with actual start and end dates subject to final production schedules. Core hours for this position will be Tuesday through Sunday and will require being onsite on evenings and weekends by nature of Second Stage’s performance and events schedule.
This is a non-union position and is considered exempt for purposes of federal wage and hour law.
