Location Leader:
We are looking for a dependable and professional team player who not only makes our delicious Stacks Espresso food and beverages but also strives to deliver a joyful customer experience to every customer. This person must be committed, and will take ownership of day to day operations in their assigned location; this includes call outs, minor repairs, shift swapping, and clear communication with management of any pertinent issues, or changes from established guidelines. This person understands that a management role is more about uplifting the community, leading and empowering their team, and cultivating a comforting environment for team members and customers alike.
Job Requirements and Expectations :
Beverage & Food Preparation:
Prepare tea, coffee, and bar drinks strictly following established recipes and guidelines. Prepare bagels, sandwiches and other menu items strictly following established recipes and guidelines. Demonstrate proficiency in barista and line cook tasks, being able to fill in either position at any moment. Location Lead will be required to attend cupping classes and coffee education classes provided by the stacks team. You must put the effort into training your pallet to know exactly how each beverage should taste. Team Leadership Foster a dependable team environment over individual performance. Coach and mentor all staff (including new hires) in beverage preparation, cash handling, cold brew operation, daily inventory management, as well as, opening and closing procedures. Provide constructive feedback and enforce standards, addressing deviations
Example:
watching a team member incorrectly craft an iced latte = corrective action in the moment Location Lead must commit to being the first point of contact for any and all call outs for your designated shop. You will be expected to cover those call outs. When you are unable to fill in, you must contact other members of the management team to help you navigate coverage. (ex. Assistant Lead or General Manager) Deliver exceptional service, ensuring every guest interaction is positive, even in challenging situations. Exhibit Stacks values and provide hospitality for all guests Clearly communicate your vision for the store’s appearance and operations, delegating tasks that align with Stacks’ brand identity and community values. Provide constructive feedback and innovative ideas to upper management, contributing to the continuous growth and refinement of the Stacks brand. Operational Duties Accurately handle monetary transactions and troubleshoot POS issues. Conduct weekly office hours to manage inventory, report operations, and audit cash logs. (3 hours per week) Department heads will provide weekly resources that leads are responsible to review during this time. (ex. 2min youtube video about how to be an effective leader) Perform open and closing procedures competently, leading by example and correcting those who do not properly follow given procedures. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the location, workstations, and equipment, adhering to all regulatory guidelines; before, during and after service. Complete work orders for equipment maintenance and actively learn troubleshooting techniques. Ensure temperature logs are maintained and refrigeration units operate within set parameters. Comply with all company health, safety, and risk management policies. Communication Maintain open and transparent communication with management. (The General Manager has an open door policy where you will be given the space to openly discuss your experience at Stacks and any feedback positive or negative you may have) Assist in training new baristas, offering constructive feedback and encouragement. You will be responsible for providing the upper management team with reports about the performance of both new hires and fully on-boarded team members. Each Lead will be responsible for organizing quarterly meetings (every 3 months, usually with change of drink menu) with the General Manager, Shop Team, and Assistant Manager to have a quarter in review and have an open floor discussion on things going on in the shops.
