SUMMARY The Business Service Manager manages a team of Business Analysts and possibly Business Analyst Leads. The Business Service Manager has expert working knowledge over the area they manage. The Business Service Manager also has has extensive knowledge of department best practices, sets team goals, delegates’ tasks, mentors and manages staff in the day-to-day performance, monitors team productivity/quality, and ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhered to and has full authority for personnel actions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics.

Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytics & credit risk management

    Leadership:

    May manage and develop multiple analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at D&H.

    • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. They should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results
    Execution:

    Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently

      Partnership:

      Work closely with colleagues across D&H including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability

      • Strong business judgment, and integrity: They should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
      • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
      • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term organization goals. They should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
      • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment.

      Previous BA experience is a plus.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Manage and mentor the BA staff as well as managing tasks assigned to yourself & other team members.
      Ability to lead complex initiatives and project teams.
      Ability to communicate topics and concepts to the team and a diverse audience.
      Ability to handle multiple overlapping projects and competing deadlines within the team.
      Strong time management, attention to detail and communications skills.
      Self-directed in performing responsibilities on large, highly complex programs.
      Capable of championing highly complex negotiations to resolve issues.
      Competent to direct, instruct, and check the work of Business Analysts as they perform their responsibilities end-to-end across a program.
      Able to define the approach for business analysis activities on large projects independently and provide time and cost estimations for those activities.
      Ability to demonstrate being a thought leader within the BA community.
      Ability to complete and deliver employee performance appraisals
      Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are followed. EDUCATION and/or

      EXPERIENCE

      Education Four (4) year degree, advanced degree preferred. Experience Experience implementing a measurable business analysis function in a large IT organization.
      Experience with ERP, Reporting Tools, Document Management, CRM, Workflow, Analytics, QA / Process Improvement, Project Management, Application Integration, and Facilitation.
      Experience in using industry proven enterprise-wide requirements definition and management tools and methodologies. Previous Business Analysis or Project Management experience. 6-7+ years of relevant work experience in business analysis, requirement gathering, documentation of specifications, and implementation of financial module of ERP systems.
