Assistant Manager 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Grove City, PA 16127 Position Summary The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the General Manager by leading the execution of daily operations, ensuring adherence to company procedures, and upholding a high standard of customer engagement. This position helps drive sales, profitability, and exceptional service by actively managing store functions in the General Manager’s absence. The Assistant Manager also oversees compliance with administrative policies to meet goals related to inventory, shrink, and controllable expenses. In partnership with the merchandising team, they ensure effective implementation of programs and provide valuable feedback on performance and store needs. Principal accountabilities Sales Performance Supports the General Manager in executing and monitoring customer engagement strategies to meet sales and margin goals. Develops and implements in-store promotions and merchandising initiatives. Ensures promotional merchandise is prominently displayed and related items are effectively cross-merchandised. Leads by example on the sales floor, coaching associates in customer engagement best practices. Drives performance across key store metrics to achieve established targets. Promotes active community involvement and local engagement initiatives. Store Operations & Administration Ensures full operational compliance with company policies and procedures. Prepares weekly staff schedules to align labor with customer service needs and sales volume. Administers personnel policies and supports fair, consistent enforcement. Identifies and recommends improvements to enhance operations and oversees the implementation of approved changes. Maintains a safe and secure working environment for employees and customers. Upholds all administrative and operational standards. Organizational Development Assists the General Manager in workforce planning and improving service efficiency. Maintains strong in-stock positions and accurate inventory control. Evaluates staff performance, supports hiring decisions, promotions, terminations, and ongoing development. Provides regular coaching, both positive and corrective, to drive associate performance. Ensures effective implementation of all training programs. Manages returns and credit processing through established systems. Oversees accurate and clear merchandise signage and pricing. Ensures proper security measures are in place to protect company assets. Follows up on outstanding orders, estimates, and customer requests. Understands payroll systems and ensures accurate communication and documentation. Merchandising Maintains clean, organized shelves with no excessive overstocking. Executes visually engaging promotional displays to support sales goals. Ensures merchandise is well-stocked, fronted, faced, clean, and properly signed. Implements visual merchandising plans with feedback to the appropriate teams. Keeps promotional bins full and visually appealing. Monitors competitive activity in the market and communicates relevant insights. Expense Control Manages store budgets and controls expenses to optimize profitability.
