- Days (United States of America) Reporting to the VP and President of the Roper St. Francis Foundation, the Senior Director of Development is responsible for providing leadership and strategic planning for major, principal, and transformational (leadership) giving, strategies and processes.
- Essential Job Functions
- + __ As an integral member of the senior management team, work closely with the President on campaign planning, organizational design and readiness, physician engagement, grateful patient program, operations, and budget planning issues related to the execution of duties.
+ Working with the President, establishes measurable goals to increase fundraising results that are both aspirational and achievable. + Advise the President on the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and planned gift prospects; frame strategy and tactics leading to timely solicitation of all major, planned and leadership gift prospects. + Works closely with the President and other members of the Senior Leadership team to provide timely and accurate reporting to the Foundation and System board as well as the RSFH Senior Leadership team and Physicians Advisory Council. + Participate in the planning and implementation of campaigns associated with Roper St. Francis Healthcare initiatives as prioritized by system leadership; provide guidance and oversight for campaigns and initiatives, including working with leadership in developing program goals, plans and objectives, and the establishment of quantifiable, measurable accountabilities for use in monitoring program effectiveness and success. + Works with the President and other members of the senior management team, to envision a model of growth for key initiative programs, with emphasis on growth of the overarching development program, both financially and structurally, with a goal of achieving at least a $300M+ campaign goal by 2030. + Provides direct leadership, consultation, and direction to the development team in planning and implementing long- and short-term strategies to secure gifts from individuals and organizations through major planned and annual gifts. + Maintains a portfolio and solicits major and planned gifts. + Directly manages all gift officers and is responsible for coaching, portfolio management, and overall success of fundraising efforts related to individual giving. + Leads regular/weekly gift officer meetings focused on metrics and productivity. + Provides direction and leadership for research and prospect management, setting measurable and attainable goals and evaluating outcomes to ensure fund-raising staff have the information they need to target their work with prospective donors. + Works closely with stewardship team to set a direction and gives guidance to stewardship programs to recognize donors in effective and meaningful ways that help to drive lifetime giving approaches to existing donors. + Oversight of the strengthening of the grateful patient program including physician training, liaisonrepresentatives, and digital communications, while working closely with other members of the seniormanagement team. + Mentor and coach development officers, as well as their respective support staff through an annualplanning process to solicit major, planned, principal and transformational gifts in support of RSFH’sinitiatives. + Provides primary direction to development officers and staff and strategic guidance to develop and implement annual performance plans and standards to achieve the fundraising and campaign goals. + Helps develop and administer policies related to fundraising and gift stewardship in collaboration thePresident and senior management team. + Assists with the successful launch of a $300M+ campaign for RSFH through personal solicitations aswell as through leadership of the front-line development team. + Has a personal goal of $1M in year one; $3-5M in year two; and $5M+ in each year thereafter. Keeps abreast of current best practices in thedevelopment profession and evaluates new and emerging ideas for potential implementation at theFoundation. - Licensing/Certification
- + Credentialing and certifications such as CFRE (preferred)
- Education
- + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required) + Graduate degree (preferred) + Credentialing and certifications such as CFR (preferred)
- Work Experience
- + At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in an academic medical center, medical school, or large health care system setting (required) + Supervisory / management experience (preferred) + Experience in building grateful patient program including HIPPA and compliance training programs and physician training and development (required)
- Hard/Tech/Clinical Skills
- _:_•+ Proven history of major donor portfolio management, as well as the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts from individuals with proven success in closing gifts $500K+.
+ Demonstrated success in staffing physicians, building cases for support. + Demonstrated progressively increasing responsibility in fundraising roles, preferably in a higher education or health care setting. + Experience in campaign planning from launch to completion
