Continuous Job Details Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Assistant Director, Institutional Effectiveness in the Institutional Research, Assessment and Analysis department. The Assistant Director, Institutional Effectiveness plans and directs assessments and accreditation activities in support of the University’s mission, strategic planning, and continuous improvement efforts. This position assists the Director with projects that aid the University community in determining that the overall goals, objectives, and priorities of the University are being met through the stated goals and objectives of individual departmental units, along with effective implementation of assessment priorities and collaborates with internal stakeholders on assessment and accreditation. Salary range:
$46,655.00 (minimum) – $66,488.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Duties Duties include, but not limited to: 1. Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to create and implement assessment initiatives including analyzing outcomes to improve institutional effectiveness, student learning, and continuous improvement. Partner with the University-Wide Assessment Committee and its subcommittees to review assessment plans and results, manage projects, facilitate discussions, and share results across the institution. Oversee the technical system for collecting, analyzing, and distributing assessment data and findings. 2. Manage aspects of the accreditation process, ensuring compliance with institutional and program-specific accreditation standards. Coordinate data collection and analysis efforts, collaborate with academic departments to provide consultation for program accreditation, and manage accreditation-related documentation. Ensure that accreditation websites are continuously updated and that all required information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with regulatory requirements. 3. Oversee the faculty qualification and credentialing system, working with deans and department chairs to assess relevant degrees, professional experience, and alternative teaching qualifications. 4. Develop and deliver workshops and educational opportunities to enhance faculty and staff assessment knowledge and practices. Develop comprehensive documentation and written materials to support and enhance assessment efforts. 5. Provide direct supervision to data analyst(s), ensuring effective time management, verifying the accuracy and completion of work, fostering professional growth, and overseeing project execution.
Qualifications Required:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. Also required is a minimum of three (3) years of research, accreditation, assessment, evaluation, and/or institutional effectiveness experience in a higher education environment.
Preferred:
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of research, accreditation, assessment, evaluation, and/or institutional effectiveness experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the value and importance of sound assessment practices. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with units across the University. Strong experience in institutional effectiveness, assessment, and accreditation processes. Demonstrated experience in project management and team supervision. Excellent data analysis skills.
