Overview
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:
The Vice President of Strategy and Integrated Planning is responsible for developing innovative strategies that advance the University’s mission and for leading integrated planning efforts across the institution, addressing both long-term and annual needs. The role is responsible for the university’s policies, procedures and protocols. This position is under the administrative direction of the President. Additionally, the Vice President will manage and support direct reports across two key departments: Institutional Effectiveness and Planning, and Marketing. Responsible for department operations 8 hours/day, 5 days/week and for resolving issues which may occur at any time. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.
Principle Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Provides senior leadership for institutional effectiveness and planning, strategic planning, belongingness and respect, and operational policies and procedures.
Leads cross-functional collaboration to ensure all stakeholders are involved in the alignment of institutional priorities.
Analyzes trends and emerging needs among key stakeholders to forecast future opportunities, while developing metrics to assess the implementation of strategic priorities.
Engages with key stakeholders and functional areas to ensure coordination,munication, development, and implementation of policy.
Acts as a key advocate for the University, fostering and nurturing external partnerships, alumni relations, andmunity engagement to advance the institution’s mission and strategic objectives.
Provides oversight of all policies, procedures and protocols affectingprehensive university operations.
Champion a culture of equity-minded, data-informed decision making.
Oversees and manages department budget processes to ensure strategic plans are effectively funded and executed.
Performs other accountabilities as required or directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree (business, educational leadership, or related degree).
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans with a focus on achieving measurable goals over a 3-5 year period.
Demonstrated experience in ing change management strategies that lead to successful implementation of initiatives in higher education, with measurable impact on institutional performance.
10+ years of experience in government relations, business development, strategic planning,munications, media relations, public affairs, or other relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications:
A doctoral degree (business, educational leadership, or related degree).
10+ years of experience with five of those years at a senior level in higher education.
Demonstrated ability to navigateplexanizational systems and provide interdisciplinary leadership to support integrated programs, policy, and planning.
