The CTC Manager will be responsible for ensuring the academic success, personal growth, and employment/career readiness of approximately 100 middle and high school students enrolled in our after-school and summer programs. This position reports directly to the Program Director for program implementation, with dotted line reporting to the CEO for grant accountability. The SSM will monitor student performance and provide tailored support to ensure student success. This role involves managing student deliverables, developing success plans, and guiding students through academic and career challenges and success. While the CTC Manager will work with all middle and high school students, a focus will be placed on increasing exposure to and awareness of high-demand careers in technology and skilled trades; increased preparation for DCPS Career Academies, direct connections with industry mentors, internship programs, and job placement opportunities and improved post-high school career readiness for students entering the workforce or trade programs. The CTC Manager will work closely with the Program Director to ensure the continued holistic growth and well-being of each student. The CTC Manager will:
Work with our College and Career Coach to ensure all students enter their junior year with a direction and focus on post-secondary education/career plans. Assist with the college/career application process with senior high school students including writing reference letters, following up with high school counselor. Conduct entrance interviews for all students entering middle and high school. Develop an individualized plan and meet regularly with all 6th-12th grade program students to ensure they are on track to meet their post-high school goals. Develop and implement a comprehensive tech and trade curriculum to complement our college tours and employment prep activities. Manage the Leaders in Training Work-Study Program Manage the academic data analysis, including review and recording of academic grades, absences/tardies, and referrals. This includes managing the Saturday School Process Manage the post-secondary scholarship application and redemption process including the Take Stock In Children partnership Track alumni success & assist in quarterly Alumni/Board Networking meetings as needed Recruit and support elective instructors including STEAM and Trade electives. In addition, the CTC Manager will be responsible for other program duties on an as-needed basis: classroom or program management in case of staff absences; assisting with school pickups and home drop-offs, assisting with special events; assisting within the summer camp; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree with related experience is preferred . Military or an AA degree with significant work experience in the field may be substituted for a degree.
Experience:
o 2-3 years of experience preferred working with middle and high school students in educational settings, after-school programs, or related fields or working with early post-high school students in apprenticeship programs or career counseling roles. o Experience working in student success programs, college and career readiness, youth mentoring, guidance counseling or a background/interest in tech/trade careers is preferred but not required. o Ability to manage and monitor grant requirements, individual success plans and other required tracking efficiently, effectively and timely.
Skills and Competencies:
o Able to pass a national Level 2 background screening and drug test o Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage students, parents, school and business professionals o Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously o Self directed individual with the ability to strategically develop a new program component, manage program curriculum and students, and create and utilize tracking tools including google docs and college/career planning software programs. o Compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to working with students o Proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook) o Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record and willingness to drive students in 12-15 passenger vans. o Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
Compensation:
