Grants Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida whose mission is to enable all young people especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. POSITION SUMMARY

This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated manager who is flexible, well-organized and able to communicate effectively. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Grants Manager will oversee multiple grant reporting responsibilities, with the primary focus on one county grant providing after school programming at three elementary schools.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishes checklists and timetables to meet deadlines. Strive to make the grant management processes as efficient and effective as possible. Maintains up-to-date and accurate database of proposal and reporting due dates, keeping relevant staff informed of upcoming deadlines and ensuring on-time and complete follow through on all grant applications, RFPs and reports on awarded grants. Maintains accurate and complete electronic and hard copies of grant files and data for this grant and any other grant that may be assigned. Serves as liaison between staff receiving award and the grantor to ensure funder reports are complete, timely, and accurate. Assists in preparation of reports to funding sources. Prepares databases to generate adequate grant and project reports. Works closely with program, finance, IT, and facilities staff on project goals, activities, outcomes, and grant deliverables. Works with accounting on complete and accurate reporting of payments.

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Shows interest in grant research and writing; willing to learn grant writing. Participate in department special projects as assigned by agency leadership.

RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:

Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Has contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.

External:

Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates should possess strong written and analytical skills, be organized, and able to work with a diverse group of people. The ideal candidate must be skilled in identifying prospective financial opportunities with the organization’s programmatic resources. Bachelor’s degree in a subject matter directly impacting one of the Essential Job Responsibilities such as Business, Education, English/Journalism, with nonprofit or education professional experience. Knowledge of grant processes including accounting and financial reporting. Proficient in the use of financial management software to include spreadsheets and databases, required. Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements, submissions, and budget projections; ability to interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration; ability to review the work of others to ensure conformance to standards; ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff, both orally and in writing required.

TRAVEL:

Travel will be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Pinellas County for supervisory, training and/or other business purposes.
