Grants Administrator 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Cumming, GA Position Information Under the general direction of the Finance Department’s Budget and Grants Manager, the Grants Administrator performs highly responsible technical and administrative duties including but not limited to, researching opportunities, planning and implementation of program for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of grants from private, corporate and government sources and creating grant applications to support various departments of the County. Job Summary Under the general direction of the Finance Department’s Budget and Grants Manager, the Grants Administrator performs highly responsible technical and administrative duties including but not limited to researching funding opportunities, planning and implementation of program for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of grants from private, corporate and government sources and creating grant applications to support various departments of the County. Cross trains subordinate staff in job duties and responsibilities. Responsible for monitoring grants, assisting in performing audit functions and disseminating information for State, Local and Federal grants. Additional responsibilities include compliance, financial planning and reporting, project budget development and project management analysis. Tracks each grant from application through to completion; relays information about compliance with all grant requirements to responsible department, grant coordinator and grant manager. Oversees the dissemination of grant information to departments, assists in the writing and reviewing of grant applications prior to submission. Ensures grant coordinator, grant manager and departments are knowledgeable about grants’ compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Coordinates the writing, research, application and processing of all grants with department staff, grantor and other agencies. Establishes and maintains a resource library of successful and unsuccessful grant applications. Prepares budget and timelines of grant project with the grantor, county department, Finance office, and the Office of Management and Budget. Assists with on-site and desk audits as needed. Oversees the preparation of agenda items for Board of Commissioner meetings; reviews grant agreements and assists the grant manager in public meetings and grantor agency meetings as applicable. Directs staff regarding grant fund analysis and ensures compliance with reporting requirements at the State and Federal level. Coordinates the development and maintenance of grant monthly reports and tracking systems for grant applications. Assists in responses to grantors’ data requests in a detailed and timely manner. Performs special projects as needed. Provides professional and technical assistance to all county departments on grant applications. Attends training meetings, conferences, courses and seminars to improve and enhance knowledge and improve skills relating to grants administration. Assists with the maintenance of the Grants Administration Handbook, including Policy and Procedures. Operates a variety of equipment which include computer, printer, telephone, calculator, copier, fax machine and other office equipment. Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or processing incoming/outgoing mail. Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing or other related fields; supplemented by four (4) years professional level experience in federal/state or local grant writing and/or grant administration; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Grant Professional Certification (GPC) or other equivalent financial certification preferred.
