Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary The Grant Manager is a key development team member responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals that support programs and strategic priorities. This role ensures a strong pipeline of funding through foundations, government sources, and corporate partners by crafting compelling narratives and stewarding funder relationships. Key Responsibilities Grant Research & Strategy Identify new funding opportunities aligned with organization’s mission and goals. Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar with deadlines, reporting schedules, and stewardship tasks. Collaborate with leadership and program teams to align funding strategies with organizational needs. Grant Writing & Submission Write clear, compelling, and tailored proposals and letters of inquiry. Prepare and submit all required documentation and budgets for grant applications. Customize narratives to reflect funder interests and priorities. Grant Management & Reporting Track grant requirements, deadlines, and expenditures in a grants management system. Coordinate and prepare timely, accurate interim and final reports. Ensure compliance with funder requirements and expectations. Relationship Stewardship Serve as a primary point of contact for grantors, cultivating strong relationships. Attend funder meetings and represent the organization in a professional and mission-aligned manner. Work closely with the Development Director to acknowledge and recognize funders appropriately. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 2 years of successful grant writing and management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive content. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant databases or CRM tools (e.g., Donor Perfect, Salesforce). Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Passion for GMFB’s mission and a commitment to addressing food insecurity. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of regional and national grant-making institutions. Experience managing federal or state-funded grants. Familiarity with food insecurity, public health, or nonprofit social services. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
