Pay Rate:
Reimbursed by hour at $23.00 per hour, up to $ 27,000 a year.
Work schedule:
20 hrs per week, nights/weekends requiredWe are searching for an experienced outreach worker to work with our organization in overseeing the execution of a three-year federal grant. This is a contracted position at 20 hours a week, 100 % of time dedicated to the grant at $27,000.00 a year. Duties for the youth engagement director will be to direct youth-specific program activities to engage youth (ages 14-25) who are at highest risk for involvement in violence (based on established criteria) through personal connections and knowledge gained from spending time in the community. This job will establish connections with highest-risk individuals and groups, developing a relationship, imparting messages rejecting violent behavior, and working to change behaviors. This role with connect youth to the GSO Peace on Purpose Community Violence Intervention initiative. The goal is to foster participation for youth in programs, services, and resources by amplifying youth-led initiatives. Frequent, detailed reports will be required. The ideal candidate for this role should have prior experience with case management, experience, superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, and an exceptional sense of empathy and situational awareness. The outreach worker should reinforce relationships with at-risk individual partners, ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, streamline processes for grant administration, and keep the grant manager informed.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Key Responsibilities:
Garner youth participation in violence intervention programs by creating youth-specific activities. Establish contact with highest-risk individuals and groups, developing a relationship, imparting messages rejecting violent behavior, and working to change behaviors.
Maintain a working knowledge of Greensboro/Guilford County youth specific resources including, but not limited to: mental health, medical, substance issues, employment, job readiness, food insecurity, transportation, childcare, and housing assistanceResponsible for maintaining database which records calls for assistance and referrals madeTracks daily work and hours required per grant guidelines
