Y. POSITION SUMMARY

Transform and inspire the youth in our community! Through this role you will have the opportunity to empower teens through transformative programs such as Reaching Our Potential and Achievers. You will ensure that the youth in this community have a safe and positive environment to reach their full potential in spirit, mind and body. In this role, you will be responsible for creating intentional and empowering programming for teens in these two programs. The programming will be specific to the programs, needs of the varying communities and YMCAs. You will work closely with the Associate Executive Director of William G. White, Jr. Family YMCA and the Executive Director of the Winston Lake YMCA to coordinate weekly/monthly calendars. Programming includes but is not limited to, character development, college and career preparedness, athletics, tutoring, STEM, cooking and social/emotional issues.

Additional responsibilities include:

working closely with the school systems and parents of Reaching Our Potential and Achievers participants, assisting with record keeping and reports, and providing key leadership in community events and team meetings. The Director of Teen Impact must be a team player, organized, able to take initiative, and be recognized as a leader by others. Additionally, the Director of Teen Impact will work closely with local universities and community partners to create a comprehensive College and Career Prep program to ensure our students thrive after graduation. Occasional extended and/or non-traditional hours and/or other duties may be required. The ideal candidate will build strong working relationships with their direct supervisor, the staff at the branch where they are located and most importantly the teens utilizing this space and should be able to work with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates the center in accordance with YMCA guidelines, ensuring all program curriculum and materials are prepared accordingly and accessible. Builds effective, authentic relationships with the Teens, Reaching Our Potential participants, Achievers participants, staff and parents as well as WS/FCS Achiever Advisors; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers. Works closely with the Grant Writer to ensure all requirements and reporting are met for funding purposes. This includes but is not limited to surveys, attendance, and leading the Scholarship Committee through the scholarship application process. Exhibits exceptional community engagement qualities, demonstrates a passion for empowering youth and strives to grow and transform these programs. Attends staff meetings and training as scheduled. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes corrective action, discipline, incident, and accident reports as necessary. Ensures that the site is kept organized and all supplies are put away daily. Reports any damaged equipment. Required to Participate in Aquatics Activities (Including Swimming, or Deck Supervision) Responsible for planning and leading the Annual Achievers Scholarship banquet that will be held at the end of the school year. Responsible for ensuring College and Career tours are conducted with students during out of school days, Winter and Spring breaks. Responsible for creating and implementing intentional summer programming for teens which includes but not limited to resume building, interview skills, SAT prep, college application assistance, volunteer and internship opportunities.
