Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Grants Manager to join our team in New York, NY, working within the dynamic non-profit sector. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while ensuring compliance and effective financial management for sponsored programs. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in grant accounting, federal and state funding regulations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional policies governing sponsored projects.
  • Monitor payroll allocations to funding sources, oversee revenue recognition, and manage drawdowns and indirect cost calculations.
  • Review and approve grant-related financial transactions, including invoices and journal entries.
  • Facilitate the grant closeout process by ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Prepare financial data and reports to support audits and compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with departments to maintain proper accounting practices and documentation for grants.
  • Utilize accounting software systems such as Intacct ERP and Sage Intacct to streamline financial processes.
  • Conduct single audits for non-profit entities to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Provide expertise in revenue recognition and grant management practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of government grants and funding sources. Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in grant management or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Intacct ERP, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, including government grant compliance.
  • Experience with single audits in the non-profit sector.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage grant accounting processes, including payroll allocation and revenue recognition.
  • Expertise in budgeting, auditing, and benefit functions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
