Sponsored Programs, Grants, and Contracts Under the Dean of Research and Development, the Director of Grants will lead off the pre-award grant process by developing, writing, and submitting high-quality, compelling grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies in alignment with college goals and priorities. To successfully accomplish these goals, the Director of Grants will have strong writing, research, analytical, project management, and collaborative skills and abilities. Develops, writes, and submits high-quality, compelling, data-driven grant proposals, narratives, applications, letters of intent, and supporting documents in response to grant solicitations and funding opportunities and in alignment with College goals, strategies, and mission. Leads collaborative teams consisting of SCC faculty and staff across departments, as well as external nonprofit and community partners, to identify and develop fundable projects aligned with College needs and priorities; Collaborates effectively with grant post-award staff to develop grant budgets and ensure compliance in grant management and reporting to funding agencies. Researches and Identifies government, corporate, non-profit, and private funding opportunities that align with College needs and priorities. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with federal, state, and local funding agencies; Remains up-to-date on current issues related to grant funding, including funder priorities, best practices in higher education, and federal grant rules and regulations. Presents grant updates and reports to executive leadership.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and business, personnel, grants or public administration work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree with 3-5 years of grant experience. Experience writing grants for an Upstate community organization and/or higher education institution.
