POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. Support all material, tool, and supply needs for production and operations as part of the Shipping and Receiving/Inventory Team. Responsible for stocking, ordering and managing inventory, including issuing and tracking all production materials, tools and supplies. Able to perform MS computer and data entry operations as well as maintain database of receipts and issuances of consumable items normally associated with a metal fabrication operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assures that necessary consumable tools and supplies are on hand as required for production. Receives, stores and issues production materials, tools, and supplies. Familiar with MRP system. Able to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers in oral and written form. Takes periodic inventory and uses a proactive approach to recognize and report shortages and overages of production materials, tools, and supplies. Reports damaged, worn-out, or missing materials, tools, and supplies. Drives to local suppliers to pick up supplies. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, electric hoists, and company vehicles safely. Possess organizational skills. Has experience and knowledge of kitting and inventory functions.
PREREQUISITES
High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. At least one year of bumper trailer pull experience. Minimum of four years experience in tool crib/inventory control position. At least one year experience of forklift operation. Detail oriented with strong, dependable work ethic. Ability to follow and learn established procedures. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs maximum. Reach overhead and out or down to perform job duties. Bend, crawl, stoop, squat or kneel. Climb on to forklifts, and up and down step ladders. Near and midrange vision required to read, sort, file, and check input/output documents and materials. Regularly stands and walks to perform job duties for long periods of time.
