35/hour. This position is responsible for counting of client merchandise and packaging in the warehouse and production locations. The general purpose of this position is to assure that the inventory records of merchandise and packaging within the facility are accounted for and any discrepancies are reconciled.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this position, including arriving at your work station on time at the start of your shift and after rest and meal periods. Counting merchandise listed on Inventory Control worksheets, in both warehouse and production locations. Re-locates merchandise if necessary. May operate forklift or other powered industrial trucks to remove product from location to count. Tags skids indicating quantity and description. Completes discrepancy worksheet. Restacks and re-wraps merchandise on pallet after disassembling to count Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the material handling equipment. Ability to accurately use RF scanner gun. Complies with safety rules and regulations Maintains cleans work area in accordance with company standards. Assists, when necessary, with other production and/or warehouse related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide so that accurate inventory logs may be maintained. The ability to read and comprehend all necessary work transactions. (including customer return notes) The ability to communicate effectively with leads, supervisors and coworkers. The ability to work between various facilities as needed (Berlin, Wallingford, Meriden, and New Britain. The ability to work independently or as part of a team. Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Basic Computer Skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical and mental requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the principle or essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The ability to sit, stand, walk, and/or climb in and out of Powered Industrial Trucks for prolonged periods, 8 or more hours. The ability to use hands to pick up objects and operate tools or controls and reach with hands. The ability to bend or stoop at knees or waist; twist at waist to retrieve item. The ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds and team lifts parcels weighing more than 70 pounds The ability to use a Radio Frequency (RF) scanner daily, 8 or more hours. The ability to push or pull up to 700 pounds. Steel Toe safety shoes that cover the ankle must be worn at all times. The ability to pass a physical given by the Company health provider on as needed basis. Specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is conducted in typical warehouse surroundings. Some moderately uncomfortable elements might be present such as heat, cold, dust. Work is fast paced and involves pressures of meeting delivery commitments and responding to changing priorities.
