Inventory Control Assistant Burt Process Equipment 100 Overlook Drive, Hamden, CT 06514
Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for assisting the inventory control coordinator with physical inventory counts, maintain inventory locations, researching and resolving inventory situations, and amend errors. This role is also responsible to support warehouse operations by receiving incoming material, counting, and inventorying items.
Essential Functions:
- Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, roller ladders and forklifts as needed.
- Adhere to work procedures, work schedules, and maintain workflow.
- Perform all restocking activities including restocking the shelves and rearranging products as needed.
- Notify supervisor of any situation where wrong parts are delivered, parts are received incorrectly, or if parts come in damaged.
- Receive transfers and verify accuracy.
- Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Assist in reviewing, researching, and resolution of all physical inventory counts (errors to be amended).
- Process product returns to stock.
- Assist with the development of inventory processes.
- Support and maintain inventory locations throughout warehouses (bin locations, mfg. inventory locations, etc.)
- Research, develop, and propose business plans and technology that support department and corporate growth objectives.
- Assist in other areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned in order to support the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 0-3 years of Inventory experience (preferred).
- Strong computer and software skills (Microsoft and ERP Software).
- Associate and/or bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Overall knowledge of industry standard as they pertain to inventory control.
- Knowledge of or background in warehouse management, quality control and cycle counting procedures.
- High school diploma (required).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift, hand truck, roller ladder and pallet jack.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided.
- Must be able to walk and be on feet 85% of the day.
- Must be able to type, bend and reach.
- Must be able to travel to multiple company facilities in Connecticut as needed.
Environment:
- Typical warehouse (manufacturing and distribution) and/or office setting.
- Exposure to industrial conditions when working in warehouse.
- Must be able to handle varying levels of stress.
- Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers, fax machines etc.
