The Cycle Counter plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting the overall efficiency of the beverage manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for performing routine cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that all inventory records are precise and up-to-date. The Cycle Counter works closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to track inventory movements, assist in material flow management, and support operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Cycle Counting:
Conduct routine and scheduled cycle counts of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
Inventory Reconciliation:
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, ensuring that physical counts match the system records.
Data Entry & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of cycle count activities and update inventory management systems with accurate data. Collaborate with
Teams:
Work closely with warehouse, production, and quality control teams to ensure inventory accuracy and to identify potential issues with stock levels.
Audit Support:
Assist in annual physical inventory audits and provide data for the preparation of financial and operational reports.
Inventory Adjustment:
Initiate and document inventory adjustments as necessary based on cycle count results and system discrepancies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes, reduce errors, and enhance operational efficiency.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory management.
Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot inventory problems, investigate causes of discrepancies, and provide feedback to management on root causes and potential solutions.
Training Support:
Assist in training new team members on cycle counting procedures and inventory management best practices.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications in inventory management, logistics, or related fields is a plus. Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments, preferably in a beverage or food manufacturing setting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing inventory counts. Knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems) is desirable. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Must be able to drive a forklift Ability to lift, carry, and move products (up to 50 lbs.) when performing counts or supporting warehouse operations. Understanding of basic safety protocols and adherence to safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Lifting and carrying inventory items up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Working Conditions:
Primarily working in a warehouse or production floor environment with exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and moving machinery. Standard hours are 40/week, with potential overtime required during peak production periods or inventory audits.
