Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Paper Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining quality and service standards for all paper-handling operations. This position serves as the liaison between the CXQA team and Operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. In addition to standard quality assurance duties, the Paper Lead is responsible for daily startup procedures, managing time and attendance, and contributing to administrative tasks and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Duties:

Perform quality checks on outbound/inbound paper loads to ensure customer requirements are met. Document nonconformances and follow up on corrective actions. Support ongoing training and coaching of new and existing CXQA staff. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, load validations, and damage reports.

Lead Duties:
Startup Responsibilities:

Verify attendance and communicate absences or tardies. Update Operations boards daily with key performance and staffing data. Complete and submit daily Rail Car Sheet. Compile and distribute Startup Reports to leadership. Equipment Status Monitor equipment used in paper operations for functionality and safety. Report equipment issues and follow up with maintenance requests.

Time Management:

Enter and approve time in Paycor for assigned team members. Monitor hours and attendance trends and escalate concerns as needed.

End-of-Month Reporting:

Collect and report lift hours and supply usage. Assist leadership with data gathering and analysis for monthly operational reviews.

Purchasing:

Track inventory levels of QA supplies and submit purchase requests as needed. Communicate with the purchasing department to ensure timely delivery.

Accident Reporting:

Assist in documenting and reporting any workplace incidents. Support investigations and contribute to preventative action planning.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or technical degree preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in QA or warehouse operations. Familiarity with paper handling and inspection processes. Experience leading or coordinating small teams is a plus. Strong attention to detail and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Paycor, and other internal systems.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
