: Yes; Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance Purpose of Job The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive inventory and materials management support for Central Services, specifically within the Landscape Management Division’s small equipment cost center. This role is essential to ensuring the effective tracking, procurement, distribution, and maintenance of supplies, parts, and small engine equipment used by the Central Services Landscape Division. Duties and responsibilities include managing inventory systems, purchasing supplies and equipment, overseeing repair operations for small engines, maintaining records, and providing guidance to mechanics. The position ensures efficient distribution of materials and effective support to landscape operations and equipment functionality. Job Related Requirements

  • Friday, 7:00am
  • 3:30pm, may require some after hour and weekend work occasionally.

May be required to work on religious holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must work cooperatively with others. When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC’s safe driving policy. Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions High school diploma or equivalent required with 2 years of experience in inventory management, small engine repair, purchasing, or a related field required, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Associate’s or vocational degree in supply chain, mechanics, logistics, or a related field preferred. Essential Duties, Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Manages inventory of tools, parts, and materials used in landscaping and small engine repair operations. Coordinates the ordering, receiving, and disbursement of supplies and equipment to ensure stock availability and operational readiness. Works with the Equipment Mechanic Coordinator to identify equipment needs, coordinate vendor demonstrations of new equipment, and ensure procurement activities align with county purchasing policies. Prepares and maintains records of inventory, usage logs, repair history, purchase orders, and invoices. Assists with regular inventory audits and reconciliations to maintain system accuracy. Operates forklifts, utility vehicles, and other equipment to transport and organize materials and parts. Assists with the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of small engine equipment such as trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and mowers. Manages all aspects of small engine repair, including diagnostics, parts replacement, and service tracking. Maintains detailed repair and maintenance records. Provides guidance to support staff engaged in equipment repair. Aids in the purchasing of small engine equipment and replacement parts. Maintains an organized and safe shop and storage environment, compliant with safety and hazardous material guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and activities of the Central Services as they pertain to the performance of duties relating to the position of Inventory Control Clerk. Knowledge of the terminology used within the department. Knowledge of a wide variety of small equipment and vehicle parts, maintenance operations, and general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of work orders, invoices, diagnostic reports, packing slips, etc., and procedures and methods as required in the performance of duties. Skill in the use of computers, adding machines, and other office equipment. Skill in the use of various software packages. Ability to compile, organize, prepare and maintain an assortment of records in the proper fiscal year in an orderly/organized manner, and according to departmental and/or Athens Clarke County Unified Government and the Central Services Department. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, other staff members, and vendors. Ability to use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations. Ability to add mathematical calculations, including invoicing and account spreadsheets. Ability to utilize and understand computer applications and techniques as necessary in the completion of daily assignments. Ability to plan, organize, and/or prioritize daily assignments and work activities. Ability to comprehend and apply the regulations and procedures of the department. Supplemental Information (ADA)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including a zero turn mower, pickup truck, computer, calculator, leaf blower,, and telephone. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.

This position requires:

stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at the level of medium work.

MOTOR COORDINATION

Requires the ability to coordinate hands, fingers, and eyes accurately in using equipment. Requires the ability to use the keyboard, lift, bend, push, and pull objects or materials using body parts as the position necessitates.

MANUAL DEXTERITY

Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as office supplies, computer supplies, and small tools. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have moderate levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.

COLOR DISCRIMINATION

Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.

INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT

Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under minimal stress when confronted with an emergency.
