Returns Clerk Position Overview:
The Returns Clerk is responsible for managing the return process of customer merchandise in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. This role involves inspecting returned products, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring the returned inventory is handled according to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Returns Processing:
Receive, review, and process customer returns while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Product Inspection:
Thoroughly inspect returned items for damages or inconsistencies and determine their appropriate status.
Labeling & Sorting:
Properly label, sort, and store returned merchandise in designated areas.
Inventory Accuracy:
Count and confirm the accuracy of returned inventory, report missing products, and assist with maintaining inventory records.
Workplace Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to promote an efficient workflow.
Recordkeeping:
Provide accurate and detailed recordkeeping for returned items to support inventory management and customer service teams.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to inspect merchandise accurately for quality and compliance. Basic knowledge of inventory management systems is preferred. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
