Job Summary:

The Inventory Assistant supports the day-to-day inventory operations in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. This role ensures accurate tracking, recording, and management of inventory levels to support production, sales, and fulfillment. The Inventory Assistant collaborates with warehouse, logistics, procurement, and planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems. Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies. Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming goods and raw materials. Prepare reports on stock levels, usage trends, and inventory discrepancies. Support inventory audits and physical inventory counts. Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment. Monitor product shelf life and manage FIFO (first in, first out) practices. Label, organize, and track products in warehouse or storage locations. Assist in resolving inventory-related issues with internal teams or vendors. Comply with safety, quality, and company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certificate in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of inventory, warehouse, or supply chain experience; CPG industry experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory software. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with CPG operations, product codes, and packaging formats. Knowledge of ERP or WMS systems. Experience with barcode scanners or RF devices.
