Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to provide experience and expertise in performing daily cycle counts, reviewing and trouble-shooting inventory transaction issues, and working closely with Manufacturing and Shipping to correct issues. We seek someone who brings unwavering professionalism and meticulous accuracy to the position, and who has exceptional math and observation skills. The inventory specialist will oversee activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, equipment, merchandise, supplies, and products. The goal is to maintain storage facilities, ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, and initiate/ partake in weekly counts of all products. Our Inventory Specialists work closely with management, develop and improve existing procedures, prevent losses, and occasionally do some heavy lifting. A successful inventory specialist should have excellent interpersonal communication skills, a firm grasp of basic computer programs, and an ability to work both independently and in a team. The ideal candidate will have inventory experience.
Responsibilities:
Maintains consistent stock of inventory. Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made. Manages and maintains inventory systems; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing or inventory control manager. Communicate and coordinate activities with other departments. Oversee all the activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, equipment, merchandise, supplies, and products. Conducts frequent spot checks and partial audits of physical inventory. Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits. Forecasts future inventory requirements. Performs other related duties as requested.
Requirements and skills:
1+ years in warehouse/ manufacturing related inventory required. Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of word processor, database, and spreadsheet software. Ability to perform basic math calculations. The ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an efficient and timely manner is essential in this position. In-depth understanding of inventory control procedures. Good understanding of quality control principles. Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear). Excellent attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills to develop ways to improve overall efficiency and overcome inventory problems. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of walking and working on feet (8-10 hrs shifts) and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent grasping, reaching, twisting, and pivoting. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect product produced. Consistently stretch/ reach with both hands and arms. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
