Position Summary:

Marine Lumber & Decking Supply LLC is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely shipping and receiving, and supporting day-to-day warehouse functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory control, be familiar with warehouse processes, and possess a proactive, hands-on approach to inventory and logistics support.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular and accurate physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Track, receive, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Ensure accurate documentation and labeling of received materials and outgoing shipments. Oversee shipping and receiving processes, including preparing items for shipment and coordinating with carriers. Support equipment issuance and maintain accurate records of tools and supplies issued to team members. Collaborate with the purchasing team to initiate replenishment orders for inventory as needed. Monitor inventory discrepancies and report or investigate inventory issues promptly. Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness to ensure safe and efficient operations. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (if certified). Assist in implementing and improving inventory management processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or inventory/logistics training a plus. 2+ years of inventory control, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Proficient with inventory systems, Microsoft Excel, and warehouse tracking software. Strong organizational and communication skills. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with construction or lumber materials is a plus. Experience with basic purchasing processes or working with vendors. Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Work Environment:

This role is based in a warehouse environment and may involve exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and heavy materials.
