Job Description Inventory Control Specialist Position Summary Inventory control specialists oversee the flow of inventory into and out of a warehouse, from ordering, storage, maintenance, loading and shipment. Personnel:
This position has no authority to hire, promote or terminate staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Preparing and maintaining records of all inventory Compiling inventory reports and issuing them to management Supporting shipping prep and loading Investigating inventory shortages and discrepancies Posting weights and shipping charges Working with sales reps, customers and other members of the warehouse, as necessary Other duties as assigned Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer service, sales and/or transportation industry required. Minimum of one (1) year of forklift experience required. Valid state driver’s license required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Operates with a customer service mentality. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Ability to achieve margins as stated in the current business plan. Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Self-starter and highly motivated. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write English in order to understand and give directions, and to complete paperwork accurately. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment as dictated by the duties of the job and perform data entry and typing functions. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in a climate controlled environment. Requires sitting, walking, and standing. Work performed requires the use of hands to control or feel objects and will utilize repetitive movements when entering data. Requires the use of clear speech communicated to others and understanding the speech of another person.
