JOB SUMMARY
(added Nov 2023) The Hardware Inventory Specialist is assigned to pre-configure hardware for clients and assist with maintaining our warehouse of products. This includes imaging (pre-configuring) servers and computers for PMS and POS, performing QA checks, managing inventory, and performing manual labor involved with maintaining the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Tests and pre-configures PMS and POS devices for RMAs and hardware leased or purchased by clients. Verification and packaging of hardware being sent to clients. Manages inventory of equipment that’s pre-configured. Works with Shipping Coordinators to fulfill orders and maintain hardware stock with pre configured devices. Requires manual labor for moving and organizing boxes in the hardware inventory and configuration areas.
KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of Dell and HP computers and servers. Experience with installation and support of hardware devices. Working knowledge of imaging software (Clonezilla or similar) and processes. Capable of lifting and moving up to 50lbs at a time on a regular basis. Ability to prioritize tasks and projects appropriately. Experience with Microsoft and SharePoint tools such as Word and Excel. Working knowledge of enterprise tools and principles (service desk ticketing, change control, security practices, etc.) Knowledge of attack vectors (malware, web application, social engineering, etc). Excellent written, verbal and critical thinking skills.
