Job Description

Quartermaster 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 401 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 Under direct supervision, supports the infrastructure of the police department’s day-to-day operations related to supplies/equipment, fleet, procurement and dissemination, inventory, and equipment maintenance, performs related duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Which are not in any hierarchical order) 1. Ensures that employees are measured for uniforms; places orders; distributes uniforms and maintains inventory. 2. Ensures that employees are properly measured for bulletproof vests and orders are placed. 3. Orders and distributes uniform accessories. 4. Orders and distributes office supplies and maintains inventory. 5. Responsible for the acquisition of capital expenditures to include ordering and verification of delivery and inventory control. 6. Ensures that employees of the department follow the proper procedures and policies in the acquisition of supplies, materials and equipment. 7. Maintains security of City property under the Quartermaster’s control. 8. Ensures compliance with the City code and procurement policies and procedures by reviewing and monitoring procurements conducted by any designee, department or official. 9. Performs other related duties as required and as directed. Salary $26.88 Hourly (Pay Grade 55) Excellent Benefits! Qualifications High school diploma or GED, supplemented by additional course of work in bookkeeping, purchasing, or inventory control (education will be verified using the “Education Requirements” listed below) and one (1) year of working experience in inventory control and general office work, preferably in a public safety environment is required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment. Never been convicted of a felony; or a misdemeanor involving perjury, false statement, moral turpitude, or domestic violence.

Education Requirements :

To be considered valid (or verified) for position qualification purposes, and consistent with City Hiring Policy 4-5, a High School, GED or equivalent diploma, and all higher education degrees or certifications must have been issued by: a public education institution in the State of Florida or any State or Territory of the United States; or an institution accredited by an accrediting organization that is recognized by the Florida Department of Education or the U.S. Department of Education; or an institution that is accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). an institution whose degree or certification is accepted by institutions identified in either a), b), or c), above, for the purpose of admission to institutions identified in either a), b), or c) above. International degrees will be evaluated to determine if they satisfy qualification requirements. Employees deemed critical by the City but not needed for the initial preparation and/or continuation of emergency operations or for special work detail may be directed not to report to work, and given paid administrative leave or they may be reassigned to another location that best meet the needs of the City.
