Lead Receiving & Inventory Specialist Leonard Truck Outfitters Lavonia, GA 30553 Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. Position Description:
As a Lead Receiving & Inventory Specialist at Plant Distribution, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels for products distributed to retail locations. Your primary focus will be on monitoring stock levels, reconciling discrepancies, and coordinating with the distribution team to ensure timely replenishment. This role will also be a backup delivery driver. The Retail Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing inventory flow and supporting the efficient distribution of products to retail partners.
Job Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels for products destined for retail locations and ensure sufficient stock is available to meet demand. Reconcile physical stock counts with inventory records and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Stock Rotation and Shelf Life Management:
Implement stock rotation practices to ensure that older inventory is used first to maintain product freshness and quality. Monitor shelf life of perishable items and facilitate their timely removal or markdown.
Quality Control:
Inspect products for damages or defects before they are sent to retail locations. Report any quality issues to the distribution team and assist in resolving them.
Inventory Reporting:
Prepare and provide regular inventory reports to management, detailing stock levels, movement, and any relevant issues. Provide insights and recommendations for inventory optimization.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and update inventory databases or management systems as needed. Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and company policies.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working in the distribution center and handling inventory. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Previous experience as an inventory specialist or in inventory management, preferably in a retail or distribution environment. Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices. Familiarity with inventory management software and systems. Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with various teams and vendors. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced distribution center environment. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis. What does Leonard Offer? Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Ability to type on a keyboard. Ability to hear and talk. Ability to move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and printer. Requires close vision for computer work and reviewing correspondence.
