Job Summary:
The Supply Specialist is primarily responsible for performing tasks involving the general order, receipt, and delivery of supplies, upkeep and maintenance of all Army supplies and equipment. Processes and segregates receipts, operates the Supply Support Activity (SSA), utilizes hand held terminals and automated system as applicable, implements causative research and adjustment documents, provides customer assistance, performs data cleansing and assists with required location surveys and inventories, processes warehouse denials and turn-ins, and maintains hand receipt files of temporary loans. Tasks also include complying with year-end and close out actions, preparing discrepancy reports and maintaining stock readiness. In addition to the above tasks, additional functions include:
Essential Functions:
- Orders, receives, inspects, inventories, loads, unloads, segregates, stores, issues, delivers and turns-in supplies and equipment
- Prepares all supply documents
- Maintains automated supply system for accounting
- Maintains voucher register for Found on Installation Items
- Performs cyclic and/or special inventories and investigates discrepancies
- Receives, issues, stores, safeguards, inventories, ships and disposes of sensitive items
- Reviews inventory in-transit paid transactions from finance and accounting and takes corrective action to include processing of receipt documentation
- Administers the cross-leveling, replenishment, and redistribution of excess property as it relates to local, depot, and other supply activities
- Reviews stock levels and makes adjustments based on demand and known requirements
- Informs item managers of problems, issues, and actions to achieve resolution
- Performs research on customer requisitions to determine to purchase or disposition by reviewing data in applicable publications
- Prepares monthly and quarterly supply and financial reports per contractualand regulatory requirements
- Verifies authorized material is shipped to the Defense Logistics Agency
- Reviews automated error listings and posts corrections to supply transactions
- Determines method and location of storage considering temperature, humidity, height and weight, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space. Marks articles with identifying codes, figures, or letters
- Inspects completed work for accuracy and compliance with established procedures
- Coordinates DLA-DS Transportation
- Coordinates supply activities
- Reviews and annotates changes to material
- Posts transactions
- Performs other duties as assigned
